2017 FBC Women's Retreat
Why should I come?
Because you need this and we need you! When is the last time you spent a weekend focusing on God and on your spiritual growth with like-minded women while having a ton of fun? For most of us, the answer is, “Never!” or “A long time ago!” Even if you can answer “Recently”, you still should come because we need you. Your unique perspective, talents and personality are important to the other women who will be there.
What should I expect?
Expect to find the Lord as we seek Him together! The theme is “One Joyful Heart”. We’ll focus on the joy and the unity that is written across the pages of Philippians. There will be large group times, small group times, and the option to choose either free time or structured activities such as a craft, a hike or a study session. We are praying that you will leave excited about Jesus, bonded together with your FBC Boerne sisters!
Who is the speaker?
We are thrilled to have Carla Weathersbee as our retreat speaker. Carla graduated from Baylor University in 1984 with a B.S. in Ed. She has done graduate work at Baylor in Exercise Physiology. While at Baylor, she met her husband Byron and they have been married for 32 years and have three grown children.
After spending 12 years in student ministry, Carla and Byron Weathersbee founded Legacy Family Ministries in 1995. Legacy’s mission is to pass on Biblical principles from one generation to another through deepening the roots of students, leading marriage preparation classes, and organizing Family Camps. They are the authors of Before Forever: How Do You Know That You Know. They have written and developed a marriage prep curriculum and leader guide called Countdown…It Takes 3 for the 2 to Become One, and produced an audio CD called Countdown to Sexual Intimacy for engaged couples. In July, Lifeway will release the Weathersbees' new Bible study To Have and To Hold for engaged and newly married couples.
Carla currently leads the women’s ministry at Vista Community Church where she teaches a weekly Bible study. This spring Carla will serve alongside her husband as the new Executive Directors at Summers Mill Retreat and Conference Center in Salado, Texas.
Who is the worship leader?
Daena Rowe is a gifted worship leader. She recently relocated back to Central Texas after two and a half years away. She and her husband, Daniel, both attended The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and married in 2010. They have two children, Norah (4 ½ ) and Adam (3). They are currently on staff (bi-vocationally) at Grace Baptist Church in Salado. Daena enjoys preparing for and leading worship with her husband as well as for ladies events. She is excited to be doing this retreat with her dear friend and mentor, Carla Weathersbee.

Can I sign up now and pay later?
Sorry, you need to register and pay at the same time. We can only guarantee your registration when you have paid in full by March 15th.
Can I get a refund?
Absolutely, as long as you cancel by March 15th. After that, we will be able to issue a refund only if we can fill your spot. We’ll do our best!
What if I need financial help?
Please fill out a scholarship application available at registration or in the church office Monday - Friday 8:30 to 4:30. Scholarships will be distributed based on available funds.
Can I donate to the scholarship fund?
Please do! Indicate that you would like to make a donation on the registration form or simply drop your donation at church.
What if I miss the deadline?
T Bar M will allow us to add people after the March 15 deadline, but only if they happen to have space available. They can’t promise that there will be space and we can’t guarantee you a T-shirt if you sign up and pay after the deadline.
What if I can’t stay the whole time?
If you don’t come for the full retreat, you will miss out on some great stuff! However, we understand the demands of a woman’s life, so here are your options if you absolutely can’t stay the whole time: (1) Register for the whole thing, but come and go as needed. (2) Register for “Saturday Only”
Can I get a ride?
Transportation will be provided for the “Saturday Only” women. Please remember to sign up for transportation when you register and we’ll send you all the details before the time comes. Unfortunately, we can’t provide transportation on Friday or Sunday, but if you ask around, you will probably find a friend going that way!
Can I choose my own roommates?
Yes, just list the names (up to 3) on the registration form.
Do I have to choose my own roommates?
No. Many women prefer to go “potluck”.
What is the difference between the dorm rooms and the other rooms?
The dorm rooms, also called the bunkhouses or the cabins, are large rooms with several sets of bunkbeds in each. If you stay in these rooms, you will need to bring your own sheets, towels, etc. All other rooms are like hotel rooms with 2 beds, linens and housekeeping service provided. These rooms are similar to a Super 8 or a Fairfield Inn.
Do I have to be a member of FBC Boerne?
No. All women are welcome!
Can I bring my daughter?
As long as your daughter is 16 or older, feel free to bring her along. Also bring your mom, sisters, girlfriends and girl cousins!
