Marriage 911 Training
· We know from research that when couples experience marital problems, they don’t talk to a counselor; they don’t talk to their pastor – they talk first to their friend!
· In a meeting of 34 people, the question was asked, “Who knows First Aid?” Ninety percent of the hands went up. “Who knows the Heimlich Maneuver for someone who is choking?” Eight hands went up. The group was asked, “If a person is in a marriage that is in trouble, who could help?” No hands went up.
· Marriage 911 Training is for anyone who wants to be best equipped and prepared when friends and loved ones approach them about marital problems. It provides training that will build one’s confidence in providing initial help and guidance that could help move a couple toward seeking reconciliation instead of divorce.
· Dr. Pat Ryan from Hope for the Hurting Home will present Marriage 911 Training from 9AM to 4PM at the Family Life Bldg, First Baptist Church Boerne, 631 South School Street, Boerne, TX 78006. Cost for couples is $55 and for singles is $30.
